Cocaine Addiction Treatment Program in San Diego
Finding the right support for cocaine addiction can be difficult. Finding care that truly understands your identity and community shouldn’t make it harder.
At Element Q Healing Center, substance use treatment is integrated into our LGBTQIA+-affirming outpatient programs, including both Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP). Every clinician on our team identifies as LGBTQIA+, bringing both lived experience and advanced clinical training to their work.
You don’t have to explain yourself here. You just have to show up.
Do I Need Cocaine Addiction Treatment?
Cocaine use looks different for everyone. So does the point at which someone decides they want something to change.
You may benefit from structured treatment if you’re experiencing:
- Difficulty cutting back or stopping despite wanting to
- Using cocaine to manage stress, anxiety, social situations, or emotional pain
- Physical or mental health symptoms connected to cocaine use
- Cocaine use tied to chemsex or party drug culture
- A dual diagnosis, cocaine use alongside depression, anxiety, PTSD, or trauma
- Using cocaine to cope with experiences of discrimination, rejection, or not feeling safe
- Previous attempts to stop that haven’t been sustainable
This level of care is for people who need more than weekly therapy but don’t need 24-hour residential treatment.
Why Choose Element Q for LGBTQIA+ Addiction Treatment
Trauma-Focused Clinical Excellence
We don’t just manage symptoms—we address root causes. Treatment includes evidence-based trauma modalities like EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems, with neuropsychological testing at intake to ensure accurate diagnosis from day one. Your treatment plan evolves with you.
Integrated Psychiatric & Holistic Care
Our board-certified psychiatrist is on-site nearly every day, collaborating directly with your therapists. Medication decisions are made together, with full transparency. We integrate acupuncture, sound healing, and trauma-informed yoga as core treatment—not optional extras.
All Recovery Pathways Honored
We don’t push one-size-fits-all recovery from substance use and chemsex addiction. Element Q integrates Conscious Recovery principles and welcomes all pathways to healing—12-step, SMART, Refuge, Dharma, and others. Treatment isn’t religious or dogmatic. Clients choose the path that resonates with them.
By and For the LGBTQIA+ Community
Every therapist and case manager at Element Q identifies as LGBTQIA+. This isn’t “LGBTQ-friendly” care—it’s structured, clinically rigorous treatment delivered by people who understand minority stress, healthcare discrimination, and how trauma and identity intersect.
PHP vs IOP: Which Level of Care Is Right For Me?
PHP vs. IOP
Both programs provide structured, affirming mental health, trauma, & addiction treatment. The right fit depends on how much support you need right now.
Both programs include individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric care, and holistic modalities. Both honor all paths to recovery—12-step, Dharma, secular, and Conscious Recovery. No single approach is required.
PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program)
PHP is the highest level of outpatient care offered at Element Q, designed for LGBTQIA+ individuals who need full, structured support to stabilize. Programming runs Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Most clients take a leave of absence from work or school during this time to focus fully on their recovery and mental health.
IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program)
IOP is our most flexible level of outpatient care, designed for people who need structured support while maintaining their daily responsibilities. Morning programming runs 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, five days per week. It's a strong fit for those stepping down from PHP, or for anyone who needs more than weekly therapy but isn't ready for full-day treatment.

What Makes Element Q Different
Most addiction treatment centers are not built for LGBTQIA+ people. Element Q is.
Every therapist and case manager on our team identifies as LGBTQIA+. That means you won’t spend your sessions explaining minority stress, coming out experiences, or what it’s like to navigate the world in your body. Your clinicians already understand.
A few things that set our care apart:
- Trauma-focused treatment. We don’t just acknowledge trauma, we treat it directly through evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems
- Neuropsychological testing at intake. Every client receives a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation, so your treatment plan is created based on an accurate diagnosis, not assumptions
- On-site psychiatry. Our psychiatrist is in the building, not on a screen, working directly with your treatment team.
- Community. Every person in the room with you identifies as LGBTQIA+
This is clinically rigorous care built by and for your community.
Joint Commission Accredited and State Certified
Element Q Healing Center is accredited by The Joint Commission (JCAHO), the national benchmark for healthcare quality and patient safety. This accreditation reflects rigorous review of our clinical practices, safety protocols, and treatment outcomes.
Element Q is also certified by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), confirming that we meet state standards for licensed outpatient mental health and substance use treatment.
Insurance and Paying For Treatment
Most major insurance plans cover PHP and IOP because they are considered medically necessary treatment.
Our team handles insurance verification before you begin. We’ll tell you exactly what your plan covers so there are no surprises. If cost is a concern, we can help you understand your options.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What help is available for cocaine addicts?
Treatment for cocaine addiction typically includes individual therapy, group support, psychiatric care, and holistic approaches. At the outpatient level, PHP and IOP programs provide structured daily or morning programming that addresses both cocaine use and the underlying factors driving it, such as trauma, anxiety, or depression. Affirming care that accounts for identity and lived experience can make a meaningful difference in engagement and outcomes.
2. How long do people go to rehab for cocaine?
There’s no universal length of time for healing from meth addiction. Length of treatment depends on the individual—their history, the severity of use, co-occurring mental health conditions, and how they’re responding to care. At Element Q, your treatment team reviews your progress regularly and adjusts your plan based on how you’re actually doing, not a predetermined timeline.
3. How to quit drugs without going to rehab?
If you’re looking to stop using cocaine without entering a residential facility, PHP and IOP may be worth exploring. Both are outpatient programs, allowing you to attend treatment during the day and go home each evening. There’s no overnight stay, no checking in, no leaving your life behind. For many people, that distinction matters. PHP offers structure and clinical intensity similar to residential care without the 24/7 component, making it a good option for people who need real support but aren’t ready for or don’t need inpatient treatment.
4. How much does drug rehab cost in California?
Cost depends on your insurance coverage and the level of care. Most major insurance plans cover PHP and IOP as medically necessary treatment. At Element Q, we verify your benefits before treatment begins and walk you through exactly what you’ll pay. If you’re uninsured or underinsured, we can help you explore your options.
5. Is cocaine addiction treatment available for LGBTQIA+ people in San Diego?
Yes. Element Q Healing Center offers cocaine addiction treatment specifically designed for LGBTQIA+ individuals through our PHP and IOP programs in San Diego. Every clinician on our team identifies as LGBTQIA+, and care is delivered through a trauma-focused, identity-affirming lens. You won’t need to explain your identity or experiences; our team already understands.
