Alexis Smith is a biracial, queer, licensed clinical social worker and certified trauma-informed yoga teacher dedicated to empowering and walking alongside others who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community in their life journey. Alexis’ approach to therapy and teaching yoga is rooted in supporting those around her in reconnecting with their bodies in a safe and supportive environment and helping them to feel at home with themself again.
Alexis holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California, along with a Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Certification from OG Yoga and Yoga Alliance. Her academic background also includes a Bachelor of Social Work. Alexis has worked in many community mental health settings which included working within the child welfare system, serving as a youth and adult case manager and providing family therapy to youth and their caregivers as well as providing school-based therapy services. Most recently, Alexis has been providing mental health therapy to the queer and trans community in San Diego.
